Hydrogen: start-up Lhyfe plans to build a giant new electrolyzer at Le Havre 18/03/2024
- - Nitrogen fertilizer manufacturer Yara's Seine-Maritime plant is one of France's 50 biggest greenhouse gas emitters.
- - A state subsidy of 149 million euros has been granted for a giant electrolyzer project designed to decarbonize the plant.
- - French start-up Lhyfe, based in Nantes, is in charge of the project.
- - The planned electrolyzer will have a capacity of 100 MW and will be able to produce 35 tonnes of green hydrogen per day from 2028, of which around 20 tonnes will be supplied daily to Yara.
- - The total estimated cost of the plant is between 200 and 300 million euros, with more than half financed by the French government
