Country: France
The company dispatches its home service professionals according to customer requests, for hairdressing, cleaning and other activities too.
Born in 2016, the startup first launched in the field of beauty and hairdressing, before extending its activities to massage and home cleaning. In two fundraisings, Wecasa managed to raise 1.5 million euros and created its first mobile app in 2018.
The company's raw material is its partners - home service professionals - who retain a certain autonomy since they are free to accept, or not, a proposal. The company keeps its prices in line with those of hairdressing salons - a men's cut starts at €23, a women's cut at €27.
In 2016, Wecasa was already posting an annual growth rate of 300%, and the health crisis has accelerated peak growth to 700% in 2020, notably in May, when the first decontamination took place, and again in December.
The business model: by 2021, Wecasa was taking a 20% service fee, with the remainder going to the service provider.
The company is going international, with a presence in London in 2022, and future targets include the Low Countries and Germany. [Les Echos]
