Warner Music Group is an American conglomerate headquartered in New York. It is one of the world's three recording majors, third in order of importance after Universal Music Group and Sony Entertainment. WMG is a subdivision of the Access Industries group, which completed its takeover in July 2011.
In France, WMG took over Nous Productions (before selling it to Live Nation), which specializes in concert production for international stars, and Jean-Claude Camus, a theatrical production company.tre (Porte Saint Martin, Petit Saint Martin, La Madeleine) and singers (Michel Sardou, Johnny Hallyday), as part of the diversification of its record business and the development of its show production activities.
The Group expanded its media activities in August 2018 with the acquisition of Uproxx Media Group, a digital media operator. In September 2018 it acquired German distributor EMP Merchandising and in October launched a venture capital fund WMG Boost.
