- They have designed a system of columns, made up of interconnected steel tubes, which are installed underground at depths of up to 100 meters

Vallourec opens up new markets with 3D printing. 01/07/2023
- Two 3D printing robots are installed at Vallourec's Aulnoye-Aymeries site, along with five others
- Vallourec has chosen wire arc deposition (WAAM) technology for its 3D printing process.
- WAAM can be used to manufacture parts weighing up to a ton.
- A robot costs between 200,000 and 250,000 euros.
- The new robots will be able to print 10 to 20 tons of parts each year, compared with the 400,000 tons produced by a rolling mill.
