Country: France

Founded in 1986, the French company is one of the world's leading video game publishers, with flagship licenses such as Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, Splinter Cell, Far Cry, Angry Shark and Might and Magic. The company initially developed in Europe, before expanding internationally to Japan, the United States and Australia.

The company generates most of its sales from the distribution of its games, mainly console games. It has also developed comic books and numerous derivative products based on its numerous franchises. In 2011, Ubisoft acquired French company Owlient and Finnish company Redlynx.

In France, the development headquarters in Montreuil houses the mobile and console game development teams. However, a significant part of development activity is carried out in portage with other Ubisoft studios abroad Romania, which employed over 1,000 people in 2014.

The company's CEO Yves Guillemot, along with his four brothers, has supported the company's development from the outset, via their company Guillemot Brothers Limited, which controls Ubisoft.

In 2022, the Chinese group Tencent acquired a minority stake in Guillemot Brothers Limited, giving it 49.9% of Ubisoft's capital and 5% of voting rights.
