- Burgundy-basedTonnellerie François Frères (TFF ) has just acquired Maison Boinaud's 13-employee Biossent subsidiary, which specializes in wood products.
- The company extracts active ingredients from oak and vine wood
- Woodworking products are used to extract aromas and tannins from stave-wood oak off-cuts (barrel planks) used in cooperage, which can then be added to wines or spirits aged in stainless steel vats.
- Following in the footsteps of Australian Quercus, American Stavin and French Arôbois and Pronektar, Biossent becomes the group's fifth subsidiary.
- Biossent generates sales of 4.5 million euros, or 10% of Maison Boinaud's business
- Active in forestry, TFF started out in wood products in the early 2000s.
