at the end of the 2000s, with the crisis in the newsprint sector linked to a decline in demand for newspapers, the company decided to rethink its strategy by continuing a cost reduction and engaging in a CSR (corporate social responsibility) policy.

In 2017, Norske Skog, the parent company of the Golbey plant, filed for bankruptcy. However, this has no impact on the plant, which continues to produce paper for the printing of newspapers, directories and advertising flyers.
