A French benchmark in show jumping breeding, established for 3 generations on the rich Allier soil; managed by Nicolas de Lageneste. Winner of several gold medals for the best jumper breeder in France, but also present on the flat, he is the co-breeder and co-owner of the De Bon Coeur crack.
Nicolas is the third of the "de Lageneste" generation to breed racehorses. The 185-hectare Haras de Saint-Voir has established itself as one of France's leading show jumping operations, both at home and abroad. Since 2006, it has achieved a record number of victories as a breeder. Saint Voir was brought to prominence by the success of Robin des Champs, exported to Ireland in 2008. A pillar of the horse industry in central France, Nicolas de Lageneste works in partnership with Pierre Julienne, at the Haras de la Monnerie in Orne. In the past, this alliance has enabled stallions to rotate between Normandy and the Allier, as was the case for Sleeping Car, Laverock and Alberto Giacometti. Today, the two breeders own Coastal Path, who covered 165 mares in 2017, making him Rocco d'Or of the year in the jumping category[France Sire].
