Canard-Duchêne was founded in 1868 by a cooper and a winegrower.
Very quickly, their production met with international success, and their champagnes were exported to the court of Tsar Nicolas II at the end of the 19th century.
After having associated with Piper-Heidsieck, the company joined Veuve-Clicquot-Ponsardin and then the LVMH group in 1987, and finally became part of the Thiénot group in 2004.
