The CNTL nautical club is responsible for managing and operating a number of berths in Marseille's Vieux Port marina. Established in Marseille in 1970, the Cercle Nautique et Touristique du Lacydon now has over 600 members. The club organizes associative activities around nautical life, as well as regattas - Massilia Cup, Duo Cup... - which help attract tourists and keep the association alive. In 1999, the CNTL was the first French club to be awarded the Blue Flag, a guarantee of respect for the environment.
The CNTL is a member of the Marseille yacht clubs (UNM, SNM...)... and illustrates that yacht clubs can also be operators when a port is privately managed.
