Le Bazar de l'Hôtel de Ville is a French general department store founded in 1856 and part of the Galeries Lafayette group. Operated by BHV Exploitation under the BHV Marais banner since 2013 , BHV is a major retailer of high-end household linen for most major brands.
BHV stores include a Bed Linen and White Linen department whose offering is reputed to be quite upmarket.
BHV is increasingly specializing in the home market, which accounts for 60% of its sales
The DIY department, which occupies level -1 of the store, is one of the most popular in Paris.
The company is sold to Société des Grands magasins, Galeries Lafayette's main franchisee outside Paris

The Bazar de l'Hôtel de Ville (BHV) in Paris has been sold by the Galeries Lafayette group to Société des Grands Magasins (SGM).
The BHV store at Parly 2, located in the Yvelines near Versailles, is included in the sale.
BHV has been in difficulty for years, and the problems have recently become more acute.
SGM is a retail property company run by Frédéric and Maryline Merlin.
In 2021, SGM acquired seven regional Galeries Lafayette stores in Angers, Dijon, Grenoble, Le Mans, Limoges, Orléans and Reims.
SGM manages a dozen city-center shopping malls in France, located in places such as Roubaix, Tourcoing, Châlons-en-Champagne, Lille, Nîmes, Saint-Nazaire, Kremlin-Bicêtre, Mulhouse and Montigny-le-Bretonneux.
Galeries Lafayette owned the BHV in Paris for 30 years.

The acquiring company, SGM, has 700 employees.
BHV Marais was founded 167 years ago.
The sale also includes a BHV store in the Westfield Parly 2 shopping center in the Yvelines department, as well as an apartment complex, stores on Rue de la Verrerie and Rue des Archives, and a building housing the Eataly chain.
