Slowdown in the gas boiler market 31/03/2023

  • Sales of gas- and oil-fired boilers down by 30% in 2022.
  • Sales of gas and oil-fired boilers down from 715,000 in 2021 to 508,000 in 2022 (585,000 in 2020).
  • End of government subsidies
  • Sales of biomass boilers and heat pumps rose respectively by 24% (to 42,000 units) and 30% (to 346,313 units) for air/water pumps.
  • 10 million multi-family and single-family homes in France equipped with gas-fired boilers, the main heating method ahead of electric heating.
