Barton Perreira is a luxury eyewear brand founded in Los Angeles in 2007.
It joins Thélios, an LVMH company whose portfolio includes luxury licenses such as Dior, Celine and Fendi.
Thélios sales were estimated at around 500 million euros last year.
Thélios produces over 4.5 million pairs of eyeglasses a year.
Thélios recently acquired Vuarnet for around 50 million euros.
The undisclosed amount of the Barton Perreira transaction is estimated at $80 million, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Barton Perreira is an American and Japanese-made brand, with a high-end positioning (around 390 euros per pair).
Barton Perreira has five stores in the United States: two in New York, one in Aspen (Colorado), one in Kansas City (Missouri) and one in Bozema (Montana).
The challenge for Thélios will be to develop the brand in Asia and Europe.
In France, Barton Perreira is currently distributed by only a handful of opticians.
