Société Générale steps up sales 06/08/2024

  • Société Générale has announced the sale of SG Kleinwort Hambros and Société Générale Private Banking Suisse to Union Bancaire Privée (UBP). union Bancaire Privée (UBP), with total assets under management amounting to almost 25 billion euros by the end of December 2023.
  • The total price of the transactions is around 900 million euros, including equity.
  • Société Générale also announced the sale of its 70% stake in Société Générale Madagasikara to Bred Banque Populaire
  • The bank completed the sale of its retail banking activities in Congo and Chad, and announced disposals in the process of being finalized in Morocco, Equatorial Guinea, Burkina Faso, Mozambique and Benin, as well as a branch in Togo.
  • Société Générale is conducting a strategic review of its assets in Tunisia and Ghana, and holds assets in several African countries, including Algeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Cameroon and Guinea Conakry.
