Internet of Things: Sigfox's buyer aims to break even by 2024 22/07/2023
- In April 2022, UnaBiz took over the assets of Sigfox in Toulouse and its 200 employees.
- Sigfox, founded in 2010, had raised 277 million euros and had a network extended to 77 countries with up to 450 employees.
- Sigfox's sales rose from 48 million euros in 2017 to 24 million in 2020.
- UnaBiz had 220 employees and sales of $18 million in 2021.
- The number of objects connected to the network rose from 9.8 million in April 2022 to 11.4 million.
- Sigfox claimed to have 20 million connected objects by 2021.
- Sigfox has 1,500 customers, including DHL, Securitas, TotalEnergies, BNP and Société Générale.
- Henri Bong, founding chairman of UnaBiz, invested $40 million in the Sigfox takeover.
- UnaBiz raised $50 million in November 2022 and plans a new round of financing in 2024.
