Forge, Societe Generale's crypto subsidiary, receives industry's first approval 20/07/2023
- SG-Forge has become the first player in the cryptoasset sector to be approved as a digital asset service provider (DASP) by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF).
- The company launched CoinVertible, a stablecoin backed by the euro on the Ethereum blockchain, in April.
- To date, there are just under 90 digital service provider companies registered with the AMF.
- The American crypto company FTX went bankrupt in November 2022. This event has led to a heightened awareness on the part of regulators worldwide, who are acting to better regulate and secure the cryptoasset sector.
