Business segmentation management of water services

Saur is the most important competitor of Veolia and Suez in the water management market. The company operates in the delegated management of water services and even sold its waste management business to Paprec in 2017 in order to refocus on its core business.

Saur is present in 6 countries and has more than 4000 factories worldwide.

Saur is a water services management company, but is also active in the construction of water treatment plants, maintenance of pipelines and the management of leisure centres, founded in 1933. It is the third largest water treatment company in France, with a 15% market share.

Unlike its two main competitors, Saur is mainly present in France since the company generates 89% of its turnover in France. However, the company has an international presence as it is in charge of water treatment for the city of Glasgow, for example, and owns some 1,800 drinking water treatment plants worldwide.

In order to differentiate itself from its main competitors, Saur is relying in particular on new technologies and the use of data, especially in the field of connected sensors.
