Country: France

Salt factory specialising in the production of Salies-de-Béarn salt, obtained by simple evaporation of underground water using an ancient method (in a salt pan). This salt has been used for centuries on the tables of south-western France, and is recommended for the PGI Bayonne Ham.

The saltworks began to be exploited in 1855 for its mother water, obtained after a slow evaporation of the salt from the water drawn from deep underground. It is based on a traditional production method that is 100% natural and rich in trace elements and offers two products in addition to the mother water: coarse salt and flower of salt.
