Prométhée nanosatellites to be manufactured by Hemeria 25/07/2023

  • The start-up Prométhée was founded in 2020.
  • Prométhée plans to build a constellation of 20 Earth observation nanosatellites.
  • Toulouse-based defense contractor Hemeria, which employs nearly 400 people, has been selected to build the demonstrator and potentially all 20 nanosatellites.
  • The spacecraft in the Prometheus constellation will be highly accurate, and will be equipped with Safran multispectral cameras.
  • They will be able to take images in near-real time.
  • Prométhée plans to launch a 27 kg nanosatellite in October to test the technology, and a second 17 kg one equipped with a hyperspectral sensor in late 2024.
  • Prométhée, which employs 52 people, has just won a five-year, €5 million contract from the European Union.
