The Poitoux company was founded in 1948 by Alfred Poitoux with the creation of a small wooden chair manufacturing workshop. Initially, the company concentrated mainly on the production of chairs with straw-braided seats, in response to strong demand at the time. In 1970, Yves Poitoux, Alfred's son, took over the business and began to raise the company's profile by participating in regional and trade shows such as "Equiphôtel" and "Salon du meuble".
He also decided to manufacture more resistant seating for hoteliers and restaurateurs, as well as made-to-measure tables and complementary furniture such as chests of drawers, sideboards and coffee tables. Today, the company's main focus is on hotels, restaurants, tourist residences and medium to high-end senior residences. They carry out furnishing projects for luxury hotels and offer a variety of styles and materials for CHR (Café-Hôtel-Restaurant) furniture.
