Simi-meat specialist Planted raises €70 million 01/09/2022
- Acquisition of a stake in L Catterton
- 70 million euros raised to build new plant in Europe
- Founded in 2019, Planted has developed mock chicken, kebabs and pulled pork based on plant proteins
- Present in 3,000 restaurants and 4,200 stores in Europe
- A multitude of players: French company La Vie, for example, has raised 25 million euros, HappyVore, has raised 35 million, Nestlé with the Garden Gourmet brand (ex-Le Bon végétal)
- Objective: to replace only 1-3% of meat consumption
Planted is growing fast 03/04/2022
- Planted has launched production of its first pea-based vegetarian burgers in Switzerland.
- They are sold in Migros, Coop, Edeka and Spar stores, as well as in Foodchéri, Seazon and Nestor restaurants.
- Planted is present on the shelves of Monoprix and Franprix.
- 2,600 M2 dedicated to production.
- 21 M €, the amount of the fundraising closed in March 2021.
