Newcleo acquires Franco-Swiss group Rütschi, specialist in nuclear pumps 11/08/2023

  • Nuclear start-up Newcleo, founded in 2021, has acquired the Franco-Swiss Rütschi Group for 68.9 million euros.
  • Groupe Rütschi, founded in 1946, has over 70 years' experience in the manufacture of pumping systems and has supplied over 5,000 nuclear pumps, 4,000 of which are still in operation, to more than 150 power plants worldwide.
  • Rütschi has two production sites, one in Switzerland and the other in Mulhouse, France.
  • Rütschi's 70 employees will join Newcleo's 150.
  • Newcleo plans to invest 3 billion euros in its innovative nuclear reactor in the Rhone Valley.
  • Newcleo plans to deliver its first prototype 30-megawatt SMR reactor by 2030 at a cost of 1.2 billion euros.
