MSC Crociere (MSC Cruises for the universal name) is a private Italian shipping company founded in 1987 by Gianluigi Aponte, who is still the owner. It is a subsidiary of the Mediterranean Shipping Company, and offers voyages on cruise ships to the Mediterranean, South Africa, the Caribbean, the West Indies, Northern Europe, South America, North America and transatlantic cruises.

The company is the 2nd largest cruise line in Europe (the 1st being Costa Croisières) and the 4th worldwide. It takes an average of 150,000 French cruise passengers a year, and takes advantage of its strong presence in Marseille to offer cruises departing from the city.

Until 2002, however, MSC had only three relatively small ships. Faced with increasing competition from Costa and RCCL, MSC had to make massive investments in new ships: an extremely ambitious investment program launched in 2014 saw the light of day: 12 ships in three different classes have been ordered and will be afloat by 2023, at a total cost of 10.5 billion euros.
