Montpellier Hérault Sporting Club, also known as MHSC or La Paillade, is a French soccer club based in Montpellier in the Occitanie region of France. It was founded in 1974 by Louis Nicollin and is owned by the Nicollin family. The club won the Coupe de France in 1990 and Ligue 1 in 2012, enabling it to take part in the Champions League. The club's stadium is La Mosson in Montpellier, with 22,000 seats. Several great players began their careers at MHSC, including Olivier Giroud, Laurent Blanc and Benjamin Lecomte. The club's derby is against Nîmes Olympique. MHSC is also notorious for its fans, who sometimes damage the stadium facilities, necessitating frequent rebuilds. The club's current coach is Olivier Dall'Oglio, and the oldest player in the team is defender Vitorino Hilton, aged 42.
