At "La Provence" and in the regional daily press, it's time for departure plans 14/11/2023
- Rodolphe Saadé's press group has around 600 jobs, of which sixty could be threatened
- There are around 180 journalists at La Provence
- After putting around 100 million euros on the table to take over the title from Xavier Niel, Rodolphe Saadé has to contend with a loss of almost 20 million euros last year, reduced to around ten million this year, before breaking even at the end of 2024.
- He has invested around 35 million euros, notably in digital technology.
- The regional press lost around 10% of its press cards between 2012 and 2022.
- According to the ACPM, paid circulation in France for the regional and departmental daily press will fall by 4.4% in 2022-2023, more than in 2021-2022 (-3.1%), while the national press will resist (+1.8%).
The daily "La Provence" accelerates its digital transformation 28/06/2023
- Online versions of "La Provence" currently account for just 16% of the newspaper's circulation.
- In 2022, the paper's circulation will be 69,000 copies, down 6% on 2021.
- The newspaper plans to launch a new website and app to increase the number of digital subscribers, which currently stands at around 10,000.
- La Provence" recorded losses of 12 million euros in 2022 on sales of 50 million euros.
- Bought out by the CMA CGM group.
