- Amazon, the online retail giant, has opened its Kuiper subsidiary in Clichy, its first step into Europe
- The subsidiary relies on 3236 satellites in orbit
- It aims for affordable rates, with space as a priority, and no profit motive
- The e-commerce giant plans to invest over $10 billion in the deployment of its constellation
- Created by Elon Musk, the system is already available in 23 countries, thanks to more than 1,890 satellites in orbit, and passed the 140,000 user mark last November
- The Internet subscription costs 99 euros per month, compared with 30 euros to just over 40 euros per month for ADSL or fiber optics, depending on the operator
