Football Club Internazionale Milano, commonly known as Inter or Inter Milan, is an Italian soccer club based in Milan. Founded in 1908, it is one of the oldest and most prestigious clubs in Italy and the world. The team plays its home matches at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, also known as San Siro, which it shares with its historic rival, AC Milan. The stadium has a capacity of about 80,000 spectators.
Inter has a rich history of domestic and international success. The club has been Italian champions on numerous occasions, winning the Serie A championship in several decades, including the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 2000s and 2010s. Inter is one of the few Italian clubs to have won the treble, or the domestic championship, Coppa Italia and UEFA Champions League, in the 2009-2010 season under coach Jose Mourinho.
Internationally, Inter is one of the most titled Italian clubs. It has won the Champions Cup/Champions League three times, in 1964, 1965 and 2010, in addition to winning other European competitions such as the UEFA Cup (now the UEFA Europa League) and the Cup Winners' Cup.
Inter is known for having had numerous top players over the years, including such great champions as Giuseppe Meazza, Sandro Mazzola, Javier Zanetti, Ronaldo, Diego Milito, and many others.
