Hydrogenics is a developer and manufacturer of hydrogen generation and fuel cell products based on water electrolysis and proton exchange membrane technology.
Hydrogenics' structure is divided into two activities:
On-site production: this on-site activity is based on water electrolysis technology, which consists of breaking down water into oxygen (O2) and hydrogen gas (H2) by passing an electric current through a liquid electrolyte.
Energy systems: this business is based on fuel cell technology, which transforms the chemical energy resulting from the electrochemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen into electrical energy. HyPM products can handle electrical power ranging from 1 kilowatt to 1 megawatt.
The American Cummins group and Air Liquide have acquired a stake in the company.
