FC Metz is a French soccer club based in Metz, in the Lorraine region of France. Founded in 1932, the club has a long history in French soccer. It currently plays in Ligue 2, the second division of French soccer.

FC Metz plays its home games at the Stade Saint-Symphorien, a stadium with a capacity of around 26,000.

The club has won several titles over the years, including the French Cup on three occasions, in 1984, 1986 and 1996. It has also spent several seasons in Ligue 2, but has managed to regain its place in Ligue 1 on a regular basis.

FC Metz is renowned for its training of young players and targeted recruitment. The club has a strong fan base and maintains a rivalry with other clubs in the region, notably FC Nancy.
