Decauville, founded by Paul Decauville, 1875
Paul Decauville invents a new narrow-gauge railroad (from 400 to 600 mm), which soon becomes known as "Decauville".
The introduction of motorized cars and small locomotives turned "Decauville" into a true railway system.
From the 1880s to the 1970s, Decauville became a world-renowned flagship of French industry.
Today, "Decauville SAS" is a subsidiary of Marrel, jointly owned by the CTELM holding company and FASSI, which specializes in industrial bodywork.
