Covéa is a French mutual insurance company covering property, liability and reinsurance activities, headquartered in Paris. It was formed from the merger of three separate French mutual insurers: Garantie Mutuelle des Fonctionnaires (GMF), Mutuelle d'assurance des artisans de France (MAAF) and Mutuelle du Mans Assurance (MMA).
In 2002, it became a société de groupe d'assurance mutuelle or SGAM, a special French legal status, and operates a number of different brands in France and abroad, which were obtained through acquisitions.
