Belgian Lefort acquires compaction specialist Copex | Lefort acquires Copex. 30/08/2023
- Copex is one of France's leading manufacturers of hydraulic shear presses for compacting and recycling waste.
- The Lefort Group, Copex's main international competitor and current owner, is based in Belgium, near Charleroi.
- Copex is also involved in the agricultural sector, offering solutions for strapping bales of fodder and conditioning household and industrial waste.
- Copex sells around 800 machines a year worldwide.
- Over the past five years, Copex has doubled its sales to over €20 million and employs around 100 people.
- Following the acquisition of Copex, Lefort now has sales of around 110 million euros and 300 employees.
- Copex was founded 75 years ago and was acquired in 1998 by Frédéric Malin, who recently sold the company to Lefort.
