Successively known as Cerabati and Area Franceram, until October 30, 2013 Groupe céramique de France was a subsidiary of the Italian AIC group. This leading player in the French ceramics industry specialized in the manufacture of wall and floor tiles at its plants in Châteauroux (Indre) and Forbach (Moselle). The group was taken over at the bar of the commercial court by investors in direct contact with the Middle East, who promised to invest 3.8 million euros in its modernization.
In 2016 Cerabati merged with Devres to form the French leader in the sector.
