Beneteau is a French brand founded in 1884 and part of the Bénéteau Group. In 1982, Beneteau became the world's leading sailboat builder, and went public in 1984 to celebrate its 100th anniversary. In the 1990s, the company expanded to become the Bénéteau Group, with the acquisition of brands such as Jeanneau and Lagoon. Bénéteau also broadened its business and began building modular homes (mobile homes), with brands such as IRM and O'Hara.
